The thin mountain air was perfectly still. Not a single sound echoed through the massive rocks that had ripped through the ground millions of years ago, creating the place the Asoix wolves called home. The snow had temporarily stopped, but the clouds were gray and heavy overhead. The air outside was cold, but inside of the massive cave that yawned in the side of the mountain was even colder.

It was a truly beautiful sight, the cave. Though it was dimly lit, the pool on the inside was illuminated by a small hole that opened in the cave's roof, letting in a single shaft of light that spilled into the small pool in the center of the cave. It was cold inside of the cave, however, this was the place that they called home. Ice clung to the stalactites that rested up on the cave's roof. Everything in the cave remained coated in a thin layer of frost all year round, it was almost like it had been cursed with cold.

At the very edge of the pool rested a snow white wolf. He was as white as a ghost, and was stocky, as if he had lived upon the mountain for centuries. His nose was a curious shade of pink, and his eyes were that of an albino, a sharp reddish pink color. His breath was sent out in small billows of fog as he exhaled slowly, contemplating on what to do next. His soft white pelt was long with winter season.

"Damascus." A familiar, ghostly female voice brought him out of his meditation and he slowly turned his red gaze towards the voice. It was his tulpa. The sleek arctic fox stood on the opposite side of the pool. The beast's antlers glinted with the dim light that shone down on them. "Ah. Erin." He spoke, happy to see his companion. The tulpa flicked her antlered head as a fly buzzed near it. "You seem deep in thought. Is something wrong?" The tulpa asked. Damascus did not answer, but turned his head towards the entrance where a noise had caught his attention.

( This is a new character that I have posted in the Characters thread just in case you didn't see it)

A young wolf, with yellow/white fur, and strange sharply pointed ears was carrying a small snow hare in his jaws as he stalked through the snow to the cave. He barely even looked a year old, in fact he wasn't, he wasn't even supposed to be hunting for he was too young and not a female. But just sitting around all day wasn't doing anything to cure his curiosity on what it was like to hunt. It looked like it was a hassle for him to lift his massive paws though, because of their large size and it looked like one had a bloody scrape on the pad. He had scraped it on some dry ice.

As the cave came into sight he felt the first cold snowflake land gently on his nose. He stopped and dropped his prey into the snow. He gandered into the sky and saw millions of puffy white flakes beginning to fall gently from the slate sky. Snow Fall always reminded him of his mother whose name was in fact "Snow Fall". He took a moment to just sit and enjoy the snow flakes falling on his face and fur. When his stomach growled he reached over to pick up the hare and advanced in a jog towards the cave.

Not expecting anyone to be inhabiting the cave and planning to eat his catch there, Frundin stepped into the entrance. No paying attention to his surroundings he took a good few steps into the cave without noticing the white wolf known as Damascus laying over by the pool of water. And he had already attracted attention for his claws had made clicking sounds against the stone floor. He froze in his tracks and just stood there wondering what he should do.

"Ah, Frundin." Damascus's dark gravelly voice purred with amusement as he noticed the snow hare in the pup's mouth. "Hunting is for the females, you do know. When a male hunts, it is a sign of weakness." Damascus said, arising to his feet and ignoring his tulpa that followed closely at his heels. He scanned the young male before him.

Frundin was going to be strong. Damascus could feel it. The terrifying red eyes of the albino male studied the young pup. "However, since you are nowhere near to the point where you earn your title, it is acceptable. I wouldn't let any other pack members see you doing so." Damascus spoke in a lighthearted tone, a white ear flicking.

"Besides, you'll need practice considering you're very close to finding your tulpa." The alpha said, looking down at the smaller male. A cold hollow laugh trickled from his tulpa but he once more ignored the arctic fox. His mind wandered back to the days where he had captured his tulpa. He had starved for days waiting for the right one to come along. And it had.

"Um uh, Y-Yes, Damascus. I just hope I'll be able to find one. Thanks for letting this slide." Frundin dropped the hare at his paws. Embarrassment burned his fur as he tried very hard to keep from studdering.How stupid of me , he thought. When he realized Damascus was done speaking he picked up his hare and quickly strutted over to an icy corner to wallow in self pity like he always did. He was about to eat his hare but than a last minute thought struck him.

"Damascus? Do you believe that our ancestors can still talk to us." He tried to avoid making eye contact as he stared off into the darkness, "Just a random thought, not that it means anything...." He pawed at the hare and admired the plushness of it's pelt as he waited for an answer.

Damascus turned his attention to his tulpa as the young wolf padded away into the far corner of the cave to eat his catch. The antlered fox stared at him with pale icy eyes. He had a strong feeling that Frundin would be able to find a powerful tulpa.

Suddenly the albino wolf's ears caught the young wolf's words once more. He turned his full attention to Frundin. "Yes, we can. Most of the time, only Healers can connect with ancestors. However, with careful training even a normal wolf, such as you and I could communicate with them." His dark voice carefully explained.

He cocked his head and remembered when he was trained by the last leader to take his place. Unlike other alphas, Asoix alpha's had a strong connection with their ancestors. Some said it was old magic, others said it was talent, and some said it was because they lived so high up on the mountains that they were closer to the stars. Damascus was unsure of all of these.

Frundin slowly nodded his head as he listened intently to the Alpha's words. He thought deeply that if he tried hard enough he might be able to connect with them to talk to his mother, but he knew that was probably a stupid idea. "Alright, Thanks for explaining."

He closed his eyes for a second and focused very hard on detaching himself from the world. But nothing happened, all he saw as darkness. He sighed and opened his eyes to satisfy his empty stomach. As he tore into his hare he felt very satisfied with himself for catching it with no one's help, it made it taste better.

He licked the blood from his lips and slid down with his head on his paws. HE nibbled quickly at an itch on his shoulder and settled down to take a short nap, lately there hadn't been anything going on, well to him mostly because he never really cared or paid attention, he was oblivious. Soon snow flakes drifted into the blackness of his eye lids and he fell into a light sleep.

Damascus was indeed curious as to why the young pup asked. His ear flicked and he rose to his long slender legs and padded over to the mouth of the cave, sitting down and looking out over the sloping mountainsides. They were safe here. Safe from drought, safe from fire, safe from most intruders.

A sigh pushed from him and he closed his reddish eyes, beginning to relax once more, thoughts processing in his head a million miles per second. He thought about his position in the pack, and how his pack was considered the lowest for centuries. He knew of the old legends, but he had never been sure if all of it were true.

Then suddenly his thoughts snapped to the rebellion brewing below the mountains against the Midorn. Damascus wanted no part in the affairs of a rebellion. It was sickening to him. Though he did not like the Midorn, he did not want to a war to break out, and possibly ruin the unity between the 5, not like that hadn't already been ruined.

Frundin's dreams had been plagued with dark memories of sloshing frozen water and helpless whines and he shivered and whimpered in his sleep. Suddenly his eyes flicked open to the light of the cave. His heart pounded vigorously against his chest that it almost hurt and his stomach was churning. His tongue tasted sour and he figured the hare he caught probably had some kind of malady and that was why he was able to catch it.

He stood up and shook his thin fluffy fur, trying to shake the queasiness in he limbs. He went over to the pool of water cautiously and took a sip, careful to not let a drop of water fall across his fur. The sour taste still remained but it was faint. He felt an unpleasant warm pit in his stomach and thought he might go and eat some snow to coo it down.

He took a deep breath and headed towards the exit, nodding in acknowledgement to Damascus as he left into the gently falling snow. As soon as he came across some untrodden snow he licked some up and felt relief slide down his throat. The sticky heat inside him was relieved after a few more laps. He looked around and spotted a figure in the soft snowfall.

Sivilia trotted up the mountain, her violet eyes gazing up at the swirling snow above her head. Some landed on her and melted, ice cold droplets soaking into her pelt. She shivered and looked away from the sky, focusing on the ground in front of her.

Silvia stopped. She felt an odd feeling. different from the bitter cold clinging to her fur. She looked around, not knowing what. Finally, she spotted yellow eyes staring back at her from farther up the mountain. She poured on speed as she was extremely curious to who it was.

As she got closer, she realized it was Frundin. "Hello," She called, her ears pricking up. "Nice day today?" The swirling snowflakes rushed down quicker as she spoke. She again looked up at the sky, mesmerized by their dance.

Frundin held Sivilia's violet gaze as she trotted up to him, a little nervous that social interaction might make him feel sick again. "Uhh, Hey Sivilia." he avoided eye contact as he sat down in the snow. He glanced at her side ways and replied, "Yeah, it's actually very nice out. I love it when it snows." he let a small true smile escape him as watched the snow fall down on his nose.

Frundin was always a bit distant from other wolves, and he kinda felt bad for Sivilia because whenever she talked to him it was always awkward, or so he thought. He usually tried to avoid others because he felt that if he trusts somebody, there were to betray him.

Sivilia glanced at Frundin and smiled, then replied, "Yeah, me, too." She let the flakes melt on her tongue, sticking it out as far as possible. They tasted... like nothing, really, but they sure felt good.

She stopped and finally took in her surroundings. There was a cave nearby, and she noticed that Damascus was sitting there, lost in thought. I wonder what he's thinking about... she pondered, frowning.

She then glanced back at Frundin, and she smiled again. "So, whatcha doing?" she asked, pawing at the snow, a little shy.

Frundin watched as Sivilia stuck out her tongue and help couldn't help but let out a really small laugh. "Well, I felt kinda sick about a hare I just ate... and I thought eating snow might help... Yeah you probably think I'm weird for eating snow." he admitted, he even thought it was weird, but then again, he had to confidence what so ever.

He noticed her paw the snow shyly and he felt a little comforted that he wasn't the only shy one.

Sivilia's ears perked up. "Of course I don't think you're weird for eating snow!" She giggled, "I think it's smart, actually."

She took a huge mouthful of snow herself, and her eyes grew wide. "Cooold!" She yelped as she spit it all out. She glanced at Frundin and laughed.

(Omigawd I seriously can't type this into multiple paragraphs I'm sorry ;n; )

Frundin smiled at her sheepishly and felt a little odd, he suddenly thought about why he didn't talk to her more, she made him feel nice. "Hahaha that's kinda the point, Siv!" he laughed at her jokingly, getting up from his sitting postion. Now he was turned fully towards her, actually engaging in an actual conversation, it thrilled him since he wasn't usually the one for social interaction.

Sivilia bent down and took a little snow on her tongue. The ice melted instantly, but it felt good as the cold fluid ran down her throat. "Ahh..." She sighed, licking up more.

Some got on her nose and she licked it off, giggling. "This is pretty good!" She kicked up a little snow at Frundin, playing around, a huge grin on her face.

Damascus rose to his stocky legs, giving his head a bit of a shake and stepping outside, reddish eyes wandering the surroundings. Mountains clawed their way from the ground, huge rocks coated in snow. The clouds overhead threatened to spill snowflakes even though it was in the middle of summer.

He looked over and noticed the two pups, including Sivilia. "Good afernoon, Sivilia." He spoke, dipping his head in a greeting. They were the pack's next generation, he thought, watching them playing in the snow.

"Hi, Damascus!" She yipped back, her silver tail wagging back and forth. She once again gazed up into the sky, dark clouds in the distance. "Do you think we are going to have a storm?" She asked, pointing her muzzle to the sky.

(I can't RP much because I have to make sure Frundin doesn't get left behind xD)

Frundin smiled and sent some snow flying up into the air with a stomp of his huge paws.He barked in amusement like a small pup that was still in the den, not allowed to venture out yet. He watched the powdered substance float back down gently in it's spiraling dance. He realized his behavior but right now, this was the most fun he had with another living creature in along time.

Frundin was distracted from playing with Sivilia when he heard Damascus greet her. Frundin then straightened up, but was still wagging his tail in a friendly manner. When he heard Sivilia ask about a possible storm, he sure hoped it would.

Red eyes glanced up at the sky and his pale nose sniffed at the horribly cold air. "It smells like it. I don't think we need any more snow though." He said, taking a seat next to the two pups, a sigh rising from him. "The mountains always have snow on them." Damascus mumbled, his ear twitching as he kneaded his paws through the cold snow that was as white as his pelt.

"You'll each be getting your tulpas soon." Damascus spoke suddenly, looking down at them with his reddish eyes. Damascus seemed to be the wise leader figure but he was dreading when he would have to release the pups to hunt them. What if they couldn't find theirs? He hoped that he could teach them well enough to find them.

Sivilia nodded, looking around her. Everything was covered in snow. This got her curious. She wondered if there was ever a time when this was a sunny place.

When Damascus mentioned them getting their tulpa's soon, there was something off in his voice. Is he scared? No, of corse not! Why would Damascus be scared? She thought.

Sivilia turned to Frundin and grinned. "What kind of tulpa do YOU want?"

Frundin thought a bit about Sivilia's question and then replied with wistfulness in his tone,
"Well whatever it is I hope it's strong and huge! But knowing me it'll probably be a mouse or something." He shrugged, not really thinking he'd be capable of catching something mighty at all. "I bet yours is gonna be awesome though" he half smiled with friendliness in his eyes.

Damascus chuckled a little bit as he thought back to when he prepared to get his tulpa. It had changed him. He had been the last one to come out, he had become lost in the woods and almost starved to death, until he finally found what he had come for. Damascus could still picture the antlered arctic fox and how he instantly knew, that was the one. The albino wolf was considered a bad omen in the Asoix years ago when he was young, but he had managed to rise to the top of the pack.

"Remember, make sure your tulpa is a wise one. It will not only need to reflect you, but help you grow." Damascus spoke. He could see Sivilia getting a stag, and Frundin something powerful, like a mountain lion. He shook his head and looked up to the sky as snowflakes began to fall. Time would tell.

Sivilia laughed. "Oh, I bet I'll be the one getting a mouse or something, and you'll be the one getting something awesome and powerful!" She nudged him playfully, grinning.

Her ears perked up. "Reflects me? Helps me grow?" She whispered in a soft voice to herself. She was suddenly scared. What if my tulpa is a BAD tulpa? She shook herself. Of course not! I will get a great tulpa! ... Hopefully.

Frundin snorted in amusement as Sivilia nudged into him, "Yeeeah, ok." He rolled his eyes. He sat down again and flexed his paws in the snow, he yawned and finally just lay down. " I just want to make sure I actually catch a Tulpa." his stomach churned inside from just about thinking about not catching his Tulpa. He knew the rules and he didn't want to be exiled.

Inside he was shaking just thinking about it, What if he starved to death? Didn't catch his Tulpa and was exiled? Or Froze to Death? Sometimes at night he talked to the air about this because he felt his mother could hear him. It was the only thing that made him feel more like himself, even if it wasn't completely.

Red eyes stared down at the pups, a small smile settling on the albino wolf's face. "I wouldn't worry, Frundin. You'll probably be one of the first ones out of Druid's forest. You too, Sivilia. Remember, you don't have to be strong to find your tulpa, you have to be quick, and level-headed." He spoke at last.

"You'll know your tulpa when you see it." Damascus added, tossing his head as if something was on it and he was trying to get it off. He raised a back leg to stop the itch on the back of his ear.
