Steady now... easy does it... focus... breathe. Tero's dark eyes closed shut and he inhaled, jerking the bone back into place. A yelp echoed through the walls of the cave, but Tero did not flinch as he shoved the young warrior's bone back into socket. The warrior sprung to his feet unsteadily as the pain rocketed through him. "Stay off it for a few days." Tero instructed, not wanting his hard work to become ruined. The golden coated warrior nodded and slipped out of the cave.

A sigh pushed from Tero and his skin twitched. He was not Midorn born, no. He was black as pitch and had the darkest brown eyes one could ever come across, but he was all the Midorn wolves had in terms of healers. And an excellent healer he was. Tero had always felt a little alienated by the pack because he was not highborn. In fact, no one knew what blood ran through his veins. Some suggested Aeil, but he had the facial features of a nordic wolf, the first of their kind. Some said that he came from lands far away, beyond the sea.

But only Tero, knew the truth of these stories. Yet he never told anyone where he had come from, just that he had come. He had been taken into the pack as a prisoner, then underwent training to become a warrior for the Midorn. However, it did not suit him well. At all. He wasn't week, but he relied on mental abilities more than physical abilities. So he was issued to become a healer. Now, in any other pack, one would be held in high esteems to be a healer. But in the midorn, healers were looked upon as weaklings.

However, Tero didn't mind. He was mostly in solitude, except for the occasional visit out side of his cave to get food and water to survive, and the one or two visitors that were injured or sick. Not a single wolf had died in his hands so far. But nobody had ever thanked him for his contributions. Which was fine by him.

Tero arose to his long, slender legs and stepped over to the small pool that was in the cave. He looked down into it, the dim light from the outside casting just enough for him to see his reflection. Tero stared at his dark pelt in displeasure. He was covered in dust and cobwebs, and it was obvious that he hadn't left the cave in a few days. Most healers were bound to stay in their caves for the rest of their lives, but the Midorn sometimes let him come out of his cave. Tero found it strange, their lack of respect for the old laws.

Suddenly, his ears twitched as he heard something approaching. The faint beat of wings. Suddenly, a white feather fell into the pool at his feet as a white owl landed right beside him, hooting softly. Tero looked down, pleased to see his tulpa had returned from it's hunt. "Sandor." Tero greeted his tulpa. The owl answered his greeting with a dip of his head. "I see you've been doing nothing, as usual." Scoffed his tulpa. Usually Tero just ignored his counselor, but this time he swiped his tail at the owl, sending him fluttering back. His head turned towards the entrance of the cave when he heard a movement towards it.

Kink was slowly striding, lost deep in thought. About the five packs. The future of them. Will it be dark, or will there be light? There is already a tear, so making it bigger would be easier than mending it.

She was snapped out of her train of thoughts when he stomach made a loud grumble. She thought to the last time she ate. Yesterday. She decided she would go out and hunt, and turned to head to the prey.

She heard a loud yelp, and soon after that a warrior limped past her. She was confused for a moment, then remembered he had a dislocated shoulder, and that Tero probably just put it back in place. Ouch.

Kink started up again, but stopped again next to the cave where the healer was, most of the time. She heard Tero talking. Probably to his Tulpa, she concluded. Tero was suddenly silent, and she felt like someone was watching her. Uh oh.

Tero gazed a little bit past the entrance of the cave and noticed Kink. His stomach murmured to him slightly and he glanced down back at his reflection, seeing that he looked a little bit scrawnier than usual. He knew no one would like their healer to look sickly, so he arose on long slender legs and padded outside, his dark eyes squinting as the bright sunlight struck them, squinting. Come to think of it, it had been days since he'd eaten. He'd been distracted in practicing his magic and working on mixing herbs.

He glanced over at the pile of kill that the last hunting trip had brought back, but as soon as he noticed them, he lost his appetite. No longer hungry, the wolf shook his head as if to rid it of something though nothing was there. Tero stretched, his tail drooping over his back as his long front legs stretched in front of him. His jaws parted in a large yawn, revealing rows of pointed sharp teeth.

He would've turned around to go back inside of his cave, but he didn't feel like dealing with his tulpa. Besides, the sunlight felt good on his dark pelt, his brown eyes enjoyed seeing everything bathed in the light. He had to stop his eyelids from drooping sleepily as he sat there, soaking in the light of the sun.

Kink gave a slight nod to Tero as he came out of his cave. She had hidden respect for him, healing their pack, even though he was looked down upon. She also felt sad for him, staying in a dark cave for most of his life.

Kink started on again, heading for the hunting grounds. Before she lost sight of Tero, she looked back and inspected him for a moment. There is something odd about him, she thought, and I'm going to figure it out.

He looked after Kink as she walked away to go hunt. He had taken a bit of a liking to her, she wasn't like the rest of the Midorns. She seemed to have some respect for the healer, regardless of his nordic features and healer position. Part of him wanted to introduce himself to her, but another part of him still clung to his old ways. Speaking of old ways, he better return to his cave...

Tero padded into his cave where his tulpa was waiting for him, preening at his snowy feathers. Tero casted an unimpressed glance towards the owl and it stared icily back at him ."Of all the tulpa's i had to pick from i ended up with you." Tero spoke teasingly but almost meant it. The owl just shook it's head and flew onto his back, ligtly resting his clawed feet on him.

As Kink walked, she brought up every clue she could think of. Where could Tero have come from? He has a black pelt, that's for sure. He's not from Midorn. Another clan? Aeil, possibly? No... probably not. Wouldn't he have a marking, then?

She was suddenly brought back to reality when a bush rustled next to her. She tensed up her muscles, her belly brushing the ground as she stalked closer. Just as the pink nose poked out of the bush and gave a little wiggle, Kink sprang. The rabbit looked up in surprise and darted away. The chase was on.

Kink pumped her legs, determined to catch her prey. She was gaining up. Almost there... she leaped with all her force... right on top of the rabbit. She gave it a quick swipe, right to the neck, and it lay still. She let out a deep breath, taking the rabbit in her jaws, and headed back to eat.

Tero paced two and fro in his cave, unsure of where to go next. He had no patients to work on, no sick elders or injured warriors. The only thing in his cave was his tulpa. Tero found himself becoming increasingly bored inside of his cave. He paced towards the mouth of the cave, but didn't turn around. Instead, he poked his head out of the cave, peering about at what was going on around him.

Dark chocolate eyes scanned the surroundings. The camp had virtually settled down for the afternoon, the summer sun beating down was a little too much when you were exposed on the side of a field. Birds chirped overhead, darting across the sky on wings that could take them anywhere.

A sigh pushed from him. How he wished he could turn into a bird, like his tulpa and just fly away from the camp and never come back. He had considered running away before but that would result in either death or marked an outcast. Tero huffed a little bit as he saw Kink returning from her hunt.

Kink held the rabbit in her jaws firmly as she trotted into camp. She noticed Tero poking his head out of his cave. He looked very depressed and wistful. She wondered what he was thinking about.

As Kink neared the pile, she curled up with her prey and took a bite, savoring the taste. When she finished, she relaxed in the sun, letting it's rays warm up her pelt. Her mind drifted to Magic, and how her pack was so very against it. She wished she had magic. The idea thrilled her.

Tero watched, silent as stone as Kink ate the rabbit and then stretched out in the sun. Tero was tempted to stalk over to her and strike up a conversation. His stomach rumbled slightly again. "Go eat something I'm sick of hearing your stomach snarl." His tulpa snapped, the bird fluttering off of his back and resting on the ground. Tero sighed and pushed his way from the cave, walking over to the pile of prey that had been gathered, choosing a small bird.

He picked it up in his strong jaws and loped over to Kink. "Mind if I sit here and eat?" He asked through the bird, his dark voice slightly muffled by it's body.

Kink was startled when she heard Tero's voice. She was so lost in her thoughts, she didn't even notice him approach her. "Not at all." She responded pleasantly.

Her mind was racing. What should she ask her? She had so many questions, but he barely even knew her, or at least she thought.

Tero took a small, dignified bite out of the bird. He was a very refined wolf and seemed to be very sensible, but the smallest little things he was afraid of. He turned his head to Kink. "Something on your mind?" Tero inquired, tilting his head slightly.

The wolf beside him seemed to be in deep thought. He was pleased that she had let him eat next to her, most wolves would have laughed at him and sent him back to his cave. So it was nice to eat and socialize for once.

Kink's heart raced. "Uh, Yes," She responded hesitantly, "But it's... it's nothing." She glanced down at her paws. I can't tell him! I would be in deep trouble...

She looked up and smiled at Tero. "You don't get out and about that often, do you?" She noticed he wasn't in the best shape and felt bad for him.

Tero swallowed his bite of bird. "Alright, if you insist." He said, nosing his way into the bird's feathered flesh once more. Kink spoke once more and his ears perked up to hear her, his brown eyes looking at her, watching her. She seemed a little nervous.

"No, but for a healer I get out too often." Tero said, recalling that the old laws stated that healers were to stay in their caves at all times. Most went blind considering how dark some caves were. Tero was grateful for the shaft of light in his cave. "But no, I guess you could say i'm not the fittest Midorn around." Tero continued lightheartedly.

Kink nodded. She couldn't imagine being stuck in a dark cave all her life. I wonder what it was like. No sun, so warmth... she felt bad for Tero. She really wanted to get to know him.

She then gave him a serious look. She really couldn't hold it in any longer. She NEEDED to ask him about magic and tulpa's and spells and... so much! But was that the right thing to do? He barely knew her and he might think she's going against her pack! That would be bad, real bad.

She decided she would have to get to know him better before asking.

"What is it like being a Healer?" She asked, trying to push the other thoughts of magic out of her mind.

"In this pack? Boring as ever. Barely any magic is ever used making it extremely... monotone." Tero groaned. He wasn't exactly afraid of mentioning magic around Kink. Sure, she could tell on them that he supported magic, or she could be interested in it as he was. "I suppose even if they did allow it it wouldn't be much use, I've forgotten all my magic." He sighed a little, biting into the bird once more.

She seemed rather curious about him and his occupation in the pack. He had finished the bird quickly, it being a rather small one but he gave no signs of him returning to his cave. He enjoyed the sunlight, it felt nice on his black pelt.

"That stinks." She commented, gazing up at the colorful sky full of pinks and oranges. She loved sunsets. As a pup she use to go out and watch it every sunset.

Kink suddenly yawned, her eyelids drooping lazily. She got up bright and early this morning to go on a group hunt, and she barely got any sleep at all. She glanced at Tero and blushed. "Sorry, got up early today."

Tero shrugged. "I suppose it does." He spoke, running a tongue across his dark muzzle, brown eyes wearily watching the wolf beside him as she yawned. She apologized to him, and seemed a little embarrassed. He didn't offer her a smile, but then again he never did that to anyone. "It's fine. You seem very tired." He said. Tero wondered what she as thinking about as she gazed up at the sky.

All Tero could think about was home. What had become of his pack? Fear threatened to grip his heart as it usually did whenever he thought about where he had come from, and he hated to think about what could've happened to his family of wolves when he had left them for these lands, beyond the mountains. A shiver creeped through his pitch black fur as he cast a glance at the distant mountains, covered in a haze yet still clawing upwards into the massive sky that seemed to stretch miles around them, only to come to a halt at those mountains.

"Very" She responded. The sun got lower and lower, and the sky darker and darker. She noticed Tero was a little uncomfortable for a moment, but shook it off.

She stood up and stretched her legs. She was thinking of going to bed early tonight if she could. "Pleasure spending time with you, Tero. I think I'm heading off to go to sleep. Goodnight."

"Hmm, So soon?" He asked. "Alright then, sweet dreams." Tero said, offering her one of his rare smiles. Tero wondered if he should return to his den or not. Sighing he looked back up at the sky, stars starting to place themselves in the light inky red hue of the vast expanse.

"Hey!" A sharp voice snapped at him. Tero's head twisted downwards to spot a massive golden male wolf, a warrior to be exact. "What are you doing out of your cave? Get back in there, healer." He snarled, baring his teeth threateningly.

Tero didn't put up a fight at all, simply dipped his head and retreated to his den. It was time to practice his magic again anyways. His tulpa fluttered down on a ledge carved into the wall of the cave. "Ready to begin?" The owl asked, voice more gentler than usual. Tero nodded.

"Alright, let's begin with more simple things, that any wolf can do." He said. "Er... Try creating a small light. Over there, in that pool of water, try making an illusion of one." The owl spoke. "Bjorn, I've never EVER tried illusions before, I don't know hwo to." Tero stammered, shocked at his tulpa, Bjorn's request. "It's basic stuff, come now. The owl rolled his beady eyes.

Kink smiled back and started at a trot towards her den, and looked back as she heard an angry voice. She saw Tero back down and head to his den. I wish everyone was treated equally, she thought, and she turned back around and continued to her den.

As Kink got comfortable, her mind started to wander off. She thought of today, about how hard it was for her to wake up this morning. About her encounter with Tero, and how nice he was. Then she remembered about her thoughts on Magic.

Magic. The simple work thrilled her, and how she wished she had that power. Then she remembered how wolves got their magic abilities. Tulpas. Young wolves would go down to the Druid's Forest and wait for the right Tulpa. Then she was struck with an idea, as if by lightning.

What if I go down to the Druid's Forest, and wait for a Tulpa? Would it work? Probably not... even so, it does no harm. I can sneak out, unnoticed, and if I can't find one, I'll sneak back in. Easy. Right?

Kink wasn't so tired anymore. She thought of a plan as she lay in her den. I can sneak out when it's dark out, and when everyone's asleep. I will stay untill the moon is almost set, then I can sneak right back. Her emerald eyes were bright with excitement.

Tero inhaled softly. "It's impossible, Bjorn, I don't even know where to start." He groaned, rolling his dark brown eyes at the owl. The owl looked down impatiently at his student. "I'll give you a hint. Light." He said. Suddenly, an idea struck Tero. He walked to the pool and stared into it. He held his breath and touched his nose to the water. It took all of his strength, but a bright flash of light wisped suddenly through the cave, casting it's light momentarily outside.

Bjorn's beak opened slightly in shock. "Someone might've seen that.." Tero whispered nervously. "If someone asks, you don't know a thing about it." Bjorn advised. "That was good, but it was too bright, too sudden." The owl critiqued. Tero was overwhelmed with joy.
