Light and Shadow {OPEN}

Light slowly circled on the marshy ground, his deep amber/red eyes glinting in the sunset. The long shadows were cast across the land, and dark snow clouds began to roar in the Northern distance. Suddenly he heard the coarse cry of his Tulpa as she landed on the branch of a low hanging tree branch. Silence enveloped them and it seemed as if the shadows teemed with life every time his paw brushed over one.

He was waiting for his sister, Shadow, to return from who knows what. She was supposed to meet him before sunset. Oh well,He thought to himself, better late than never.

He stopped his circling for a moment and stretched. Suddenly his ears perked and he leapt immediately through a bush. His Tulpa looked on with curiosity as she was a little startled. Light then emerged form around the bush with a small beast ,that she did not know the name of, in his jaws. "You never know when you're gonna eat next." he mumbled through the fur of his prey.

Shadow trotted through the marsh, her white pelt flowing in the breeze. The sun was setting, and she was late. She really didn't mind, though. She knew he would know she would show up, so why rush? Finally arriving, She poked her head into the scene, her brother's back to her.

"Hi, Light." Shadow's soft voice sounded behind him. "Sorry I was late." She smiled innocently. Sitting down, She licked her paw, pretending to be bored. "Anything specific planned?" She looked up at her brother, curiously gazing at him, waiting for an answer.

Light turned his head at the sound of his sister's voice. "That's fine." he replied, "You weren't too late." he turned around and faced her. " As for plans I was thinking we could head over to the Asoix, it looks like they're gonna have a storm and I bet it'd be fun to mess with them for a bit." he smiled in a crooked way and laughed a bit.

Shadow grinned. "That'll be fun." She looked out at the sunset again, willing it to set. She wanted to do it now, and not wait a minute.

She sighed and looked back to her brother. "What shall we do in the mean time?"

"Aah, that question will forever haunt me every day." he sighed, " I guess should we head over? The sun looks pretty close to being behind the horizon." Indeed the sun was almost gone but it still left a pale orange tint on the the landscape. He looked out toward the Asoix, the sky was thick with storm clouds and blurred with white. "But it might be better if we wait till complete moonlight to set out, that way we'll know they will all be asleep." His Tulpa cawed and landed on his shoulder, knowing she was invisible to Shadow.

Shadow flopped down and sighed. "You're right, we should wait." As her thoughts drifted off, she was reminded of her past. It hurt her to think about it, but what else was there to do?

She thought of her parents and her and Light growing up together with their tulpas. She sighed. If she lost Light, she wouldn't know what she would do.

Light snickered, "Of course I'm always right." he only meant this in a joking way as he plopped down next to Shadow and rested his head on his paws. He licked her between the ears affectionately and cleared his throat before dozing off for a bit.

When Light awoke, he had lots of sleep that day so he didn't sleep very long, the moon was half way across the horizon, shedding her silver light across a sliver of the land. He stood and stretched his legs and spine, and with a crack of his neck he asked, "Ready to go?"

Shadow looked up at Light and smiled warmly. She then napped too, curled next to her brother.

Shadow's eyes came into focus at Light's face. She looked up at the sky, and noticed the moon high in the sky. "Ready to roll." She got up and stretched her cramped legs, sighing. She glanced at Light and grinned. This was going to be fun.

Light possesed the same toothy beam that his sister held. " More than ready." He tilted his head to the side sharply and his neck cracked, "aah" he sighed. His tulpa steadied herself on his back with a devious glint in her eyes, she loved where this was going, Light and Shadow were always intersting to observe.

Light turned his face to the silvery cresent moon and let out a haunting power howl.
